Skin Needling
​
Skin Needling uses a hand held device with needles to puncture micro wounds in the skin. This creates channels allowing better product absorption and growth factor stimulation. Applications include scar revision, collagen stimulation, facial tightening, rehydration, regaining glow, general rejuvenation, pigmentation reduction, and piercing hole reduction. Emma Rose will blend and penetrate a cocktail of ingredients suited to your skin condition. Here at Thistle and Rose we specialise in custom Skin Needling treatments tailored to each clients skin concerns, at each appointment.

There are two main categories of Skin Needling; manual and digital.
Manual skin needling uses a hand held roller device with several needles. This is what we recommend you do at home.
Digital skin needling uses a hand held electric pen device with a single or cluster of fine needles. This is what we do in clinic.

Most clients have their consultation at the same time as their initial appointment therefore are not charged for a consultation.
At the time of consultation, the different types of Skin Needling will be discussed.
We understand that even after reading the information below you may still not know which treatment would be best suited for you however we can further advice after you submit photos of your skin with your booking request form and also at your consultation.

Manual Skin Needling
Manual skin needling is performed by using a roller across the face which pricks micro holes into the skin.
​
At home
All of our clients are recommended to do this at home.
You can use a roller at home with depths of either 0.2mm or 0.3mm. The at home MTS-roller and CliniPrep cleaning solution is $175, and you will need to be using topical skin care recommended specific to your skin and concerns.

In Clinic​
We no longer offer a Skin rolling service in clinic- we prefer to use a digital machine as we find it is more controlled therefore safer for skin yielding better results. The depth can't be adjusted during the treatment between areas therefore there is less variety of skin concerns that can be treated in one session. Most clients report that a digital needling treatment is more comfortable (other than the noise of an electric machine at first).

Although skin needling is minimally invasive, some down time may be required (allow a 7 day window due to redness, swelling, bruising and some peeling). At home Skin Rollers may be used in between sessions depending on your specific home regime.
