Please understand that it is more difficult to work on existing tattoo and options are more limited. Extra training is also required hence it is also important to choose a Cosmetic Tattooist fully qualified in all aspects of training including machine work, microblade work and tattoo removal.

Cosmetic Tattoo is referred to as several terms such as permanent makeup (PMU), semi permanent makeup (SPMU), micropigmentation, brow/lip/liner tattoo, embroidery, waterproof makeup. Here in Perth, Australia, it is most commonly known as Cosmetic Tattoo. There are many different styles available using many different devices. Emma Rose is qualified in using both hand methods and machine methods to create unique results tailored to each individuals features.

Brow Tattoo​

​

Cosmetic Brow tattoos are achieved over two sessions; the Initial Tattoo Treatment and a Refinement Tattoo Treatment which must be 4-8weeks after the Initial Tattoo Treatment. However, depending on skin type, lifestyle, home care and desired method, some people may even require a second Refinement Tattoo Treatment 4-8weeks after the first Refinement Tattoo Treatment, therefore three sessions in total.

All Initial Tattoo Treatments include a thorough Consultation where the full process will be explained to you, shape and colour will be discussed and any outstanding questions will be answered. If you do have questions, please write them down and bring them to your appointment.

​

All Brow Tattoo treatments include a complimentary Brow Colour (if needed) & Sculpt during the procedure, please grow your brows out so Emma Rose can work with your natural hair growth and help you decide the best method of cosmetic tattoo for your brows. This helps blend the tattoo so it looks natural, and helps you reach your desired outcome.

Most ladies request a Lash Lift & Lash Tint at the same time as their Brow Tattoo procedure as they feel it finishes off their eye enhancement. If you would like this please book at the same time to allow for enough time, or if you last minute decide you want to add this on the day, please just ask and we will do our best to accommodate it :)

When booking, please take into consideration that the brows will look very dark immediately after the procedure, even darker over the next few days and will then start to flake and peel. For 7 days you will need to;

-use the Post Tattoo Colour Protection Cream (available for purchase for $30) making them slightly shiny in appearance

-avoid makeup and other products

-avoid wetting the brows

-avoid swimming

-avoid sun/ radiation

At the time of booking your Initial Brow Tattoo, you must book your Refinement Brow Tattoo for 4-8weeks after the Initial Brow Tattoo. Emma Rose is normally booked 5-6months in advance (when business was based in Karratha) and is quickly establishing herself in Perth so is normally booked 1-2months in advance so booking both appointments at once will avoid disappointment. If you do not attend your refinement appointment within the first 4-8weeks you will be charged for an Annual Refresher.**

There are several types of brow tattoo methods to choose from, all of which have the same fee;

-microblading

-machine

-combination of both microblading and machine

However, if you have microblading at your initial appointment, and then convert to a different method at your refinement appointment, an extra fee will be incurred. Also, this will mean that you most likely will require a subsequent refinement visit (ie a third appointment).

Microblading

Microblading is more suited to drier, finer or mature skin types with finer hairs. Not ideal for those who are active/sweat lots, oily or spend a lot of time outside.

-Microblading Hair Strokes aka Feather Touch $1000 + $30 Post Colour Protection Cream

A microblade is a hand tool similar to a pen with a line of fine needles at one end. It is dipped into pigment and then used to scratch lines or 'hair strokes' into the skin which mimics hair. This method is very natural looking and is semi-permanent. You will most likely require annual Refresher Treatments. Microblading implants a minimal amount of pigment into the skin therefore it fades very quickly compared to other methods, and is more suited to drier, finer or mature skin types with finer hairs. You will still need to tint and wax the brows monthly and you will most likely still need to fill the brows using makeup.

-Microblading Manual Shading $1000 + $30 Post Colour Protection Cream

This method is very natural looking and is semi-permanent. You will most likely require annual Refresher Treatments. You will still need to tint and wax the brows monthly and you will most likely still need to fill the brows using makeup. This is not ideal for everyone.

Machine

This is more similar to a tattoo gun, where the areas are shaded. Machine methods are more suited to those who have a thicker, oilier skin, those who prefer a makeup look, or those who need to correct symmetry and those wanting to not spend as much time making up the brows.

-Machine Ombre Powder Fill $1000 + $30 Post Colour Protection Cream

The entire shape of the brow is filled in resembling having your brows filled in with a brow powder makeup product. We can adjust the depth of the powder fill according to your taste and need so that it can be a soft transparent shadow behind the hairs or a solid, opaque block. Gone are the days of using body tattoo inks in permanent makeup- this will not look like old school block brow tattoo.

Emma Rose's Signature Powder fill is to Ombre the density of the powdering to adjust the fill to suit your face/style.

-Machine Hair Strokes $1000 + $30 Post Colour Protection Cream

Combination

Combination of Microblading and Machine $1000 + $30 Post Colour Protection Cream

Both the Microblade and the Machine can be used together to give varying end results. Combination methods are more suited to those who have a thicker, oilier skin, those who prefer a makeup look, or those who need to correct symmetry and those wanting to not spend as much time making up the brows.

-Signature Ombre

Hair strokes in the inner bulb blending into the body of the brow. Pixelated powder shading very lightly over the strokes gradually becoming more dense towards the rest of the brow. Can focus strength in the bulk of the body or along the upper lower ridge depending on desired outcome. This is Emma Rose's signature artistic flare for the Combination effect.

-Shaded Strokes

Hair strokes are Microbladed throughout the brow followed by shading between the strokes using the Machine, can be ombre'd.

-Strokes to Powder

The inner bulb has hair strokes and the rest of the brow is powdered, can be ombre'd.

-Strokes over Powder

The base of the brow is powdered in a lighter colour with the Machine and at your Refinement visit hair strokes are Microbladed on top of the powder base but in a darker colour. Can be ombre'd. A 3D effect.

-Dual Reinforced Hair Strokes

Hair strokes are Microbladed into the skin and then the strokes are reinforced with the machine to deposit extra pigment for longevity and a more statement hair stroke. Can be ombre'd. Not suited to all skins.

-Digital Hair Strokes

Hair strokes are implanted using the machine only. Can be ombre'd.

Corrections & Tattoo Removal

 

Corrections

(this includes anyone who has had Cosmetic Tattoo before by another tattooist/not by Emma Rose)

POA, please send through photos via email to emmarose@thistleandrose.com.au, along with the answers to the following questions;

-how many sessions of cosmetic tattoo have you previously had altogether?

-what date did you have your first appointment? and all other appointment dates after that?

-what styles of cosmetic tattoo have you had (i.e. the machine for shading or hair strokes, microblading for shading or hair strokes)

-where/ with whom did you have your cosmetic tattoo done?

-what do you not like about your current tattoo?

-what are you hoping to achieve by coming to see us? Do you want your Brows completely removed, or lightened in colour? Balanced out covering existing pigment?

Brow Tattoo prices start from $950 for the Initial tattoo correction, $30 for aftercare cream, allow 15mins and from $150 for Refinement sessions, will already have enough aftercare cream, allow 90mins. Highly likely a third appointment will be required.

Correction work, or previously tattooed Brows often costs more than an initial tattoo just to get the brow to a state where it can be further worked on. Often removal of existing tattoo and an extended healing period will be required before more pigment can be added. This means that several treatments over several months may be recommended, not necessarily the base two treatments that most clients achieve results in. If you need correction work, please contact Emma Rose direct, along with photos and details and photos of your Brow status to check whether or not she is able to help you or what advice she can offer.

Removal / Lightening

POA, generally the first treatment is $500, and subsequent treatments thereafter are $250 per session. A scar reduction aftercare gel will need to be purchased and applied $109.50

​

This is saline removal only. Laser removal requires application by Doctor or nurse under Dr supervision only. Emma Rose is not legally allowed to operate laser in WA due to government regulations.

​

Removal work often costs more than an initial tattoo just to get the area to a state where it can be further worked on. Sometimes it is unable to be retattooed in the future. Often removal of existing tattoo and an extended healing period will be required before more pigment can be added. This meas that several treatments over several months may be recommended.

There is a high risk of scarring with removal work therefore Emma Rose may not be able to treat all cases. If she doesn't think that she can make an area better, she will refuse to do your treatment.

Consultations and Test Patches

99% of clients are fully committed to the idea of Cosmetic Tattoo and book straight in for a Consult and their Initial Cosmetic Tattoo all in the same appointment. However if you are uncertain about whether Cosmetic Tattoo can achieve your desires, you may request a Consult, or Consult and Test Patch prior to your Initial Tattoo. (Note that if you have booked your Cosmetic Tattoo appt and proceed with it on the day, you will not be charged additionally for your Consultation.)

Consult forms and consent forms completed, different cosmetic tattoo methods explained, goals/desires/improvements are discussed, new shape drawn on, pigment colour chosen and all questions/concerns are answered.

Does not include any tinting/ sculpting/ waxing, however Brow colouring/ Sculpting/ lash lifting & tinting and other facial waxing can be added on at the time of booking your Consultation appt in.

You will still be required to make  $100 Booking Fee to secure your Cosmetic Tattoo appointment.

Consultation and Test Patch $250, not redeemable on other services

This is specifically for those who are concerned about reactions. Please send through your allergen information and concerns in the Booking Request Form.

Consult forms and consent forms completed, different cosmetic tattoo methods explained, goals/desires/improvements are discussed, new shape drawn on, pigment colour chosen and all questions/concerns are answered.

Then, we proceed to performing a test patch running through the whole tattoo process in an inconspicuous area (ie behind the ear/neck/hairline) and need to wait 7 days before your Initial Tattoo appointment.

*Please note that some reactions may take years to manifest so a Test Patch does not rule out possible reactions.

Does not include any tinting/ sculpting/ waxing, however Brow colouring/ Sculpting/ lash lifting & tinting and other facial waxing can be added on at the time of booking your Consultation appt in.

You will still be required to make  $100 Booking Fee to secure your Cosmetic Tattoo appointment.
