Plasmedic

Plasmedic Fibroblast Plasma Treament

This is a treatment that uses a machine handpick called "Plasmedic". The Plasmedic device creates a voltage in the air between the device applicator tip and the skin resulting in a small millimetre size carbon spot where the excess skin has been evaporated. Using our reduction grid method or spray technique and the formulation of new collagen and elastin, the skin becomes tighter, lifted and wrinkles smoothed out and reduced.

You are required to purchase your own unopened topical anaesthetic cream and bring it with you. It is a requirement of the procedure as we cannot afford to have any movement from frights or discomfort during the treatment. We cannot supply or apply this for you. Do not apply before arriving as we need to consult first and take photos etc.

We suggest purchasing an Emla 5% or Numit 5% tube from the pharmacy and bring this with you. For a small facial area, a 5g tube is sufficient, for two small areas a 10g tube is sufficient. For more than two areas or a large area, a 20-30g tube will be required.

You may prefer to have your Dr prescribe a stronger topical anaesthetic cream. Please have the script filled and bring the prescription tube with you. Again, for a small facial area, a 5g tube is sufficient. For more than one area or a large area, a 20g tube will be required.

Plasmedic FAQs

-Is a Plasmedic treatment safe?

Plasmedic is a safe procedure that can only be performed by a specially trained practitioner. Emma Rose has received additional training and experience so you can enjoy optimal results, this includes making sure you are eligible before commencing treatment.

-Who am I able to have a Plasmedic treatment with?

Emma offers Plasmedic treatments Monday to Friday 7am - 430pm.

-How long do Plasmedic treatments take?

Please see our time allowances in the treatment list above.

-Who is Plasmedic NOT suitable for?

-pregnant ladies (sorry, we just can't risk it!!)

-breast feeding ladies (Drs consent required)

-diabetics (needs to be well managed/ controlled and Drs certificate required)

-those using oral retinoids/ Vitamin A (i.e. Roaccutane/ Isotane/ Accutane) need to wait at least 12 months post treatment

-skin sensitising medications

-Fitzpatrick Type 4-6 may not be eligible, this is case by case

-electrical implants such as pacemaker (we are using an electrical charge)

-epilepsy (we are using an electrical charge)

-anyone prone to keloid scarring

-skin disorders such as psoriasis, eczema or dermatitis in the area

-active herpes/ cold sores

-injectables such as fillers and muscle relaxants in the area within the 2 weeks before

-What will I look like after the treatment?

Immediately after, the areas will be a little swollen, red and will be covered in a grid pattern brown dots

-What is the downtime/ healing?

Day 0:

Day 1 - Day 7:

Day 8 - a few months: the area may pink/ red// brown for a long time post treatment

Most clients will have the treatment day (Day 0) and the following day (Day 1) off work due to swelling and colour. It is then up to you whether you have

We advise no social activities for 7 days as makeup cannot be worn.

-How often should I have a Plasmedic treatment?

Generally only one treatment is required per area. Occasionally, clients will need a second or third treatment. If subsequent treatments are required, they must be within the 12 week mark. Please remember that the skin continues to age over time and we cannot stop this, therefore treatments may be required every 2-5years.

-Can I have Plasmedic at the same time as other treatments?

We prefer to keep treatments separate as we don't want to over work the skin and exceed the healing capacity. Some treatments may be possible to have on the same day but on different areas of the face/ body. For example, you may have a Brow Tint & Sculpt and Lash Lift & Tint then have the lower face treated with he Plasmedic service straight after. Please email us emmarose@thistleandrose.com.au and ask if the treatment you are considering is compatible.

-How soon will I see results?

Your contraction/ tightening/ lifting results are visible immediately. That is one of the great things about Plasmedic. Once the swelling subsides and scabs fall off, you will also notice improvement. Once your healing is complete (after a few weeks), you will be able to see the results without treatment side effects. For the next few months, your collagen and elastic will continue to be activated giving even more results.

-If I have Plasmedic treatments, do I HAVE to continue?

No, you do not have to continue Plasmedic treatments constantly or ever again if you do not wish to.

-Will I require topical anaesthetic/ numbing cream?

Yes. You are required to purchase your own unopened topical anaesthetic cream and bring it with you. We cannot supply or apply this for you. Do not apply before arriving as we need to consult first and take photos etc. It is a requirement of the procedure as we cannot afford to have any movement from frights or discomfort during the treatment,

We suggest purchasing an Emla 5% or Numit 5% tube from the pharmacy and bring this with you. For a small facial area, a 5g tube is sufficient. For more than one area or a large area, a 20g tube will be required.

You may prefer to have your Dr prescribe a stronger topical anaesthetic cream (10-20%). Please have the script filled and bring the prescription tube with you. Again, for a small facial area, a 5g tube is sufficient. For more than one area or a large area, a 20g tube will be required.

-Does Plasmedic hurt?

You will apply your numbing cream to the area once your consultation is complete which take the edge off the treatment. It is likely you will still feel some

-What does Plasmedic feel like?

Clients have described it to feel exactly as it seems- tiny little hot burning flashes. Sometimes clients have said some areas tickled or were a little itchy during treatment, and a little tingly/ itchy straight after treatment. Th treated area feels very hot that day and for the next few days.

-What temperature does the skins surface heat too?

-Can I wear makeup straight after my appointment?

No, you are unable to wear makeup on the area until the scab sites have flaked off on their own (this normally takes up to 7days, with 4-5 days being a fast healer, and more than 7 days for a slower healer).

If you apply an approved mineral powder during the first week, it cannot be removed.

-Can Plasmedic treatments cause scarring?

Yes. It is possible to have hyper pigmentation or hypopigmentaiton and pitted indentation marks after a Plasmedic treatment. It is most often as a result of not following aftercare advice. This may be permanent therefore it is extremely important to follow your aftercare advice strictly.

-Do the Plasmedic applicators get reused?

Absolutely not!!! Here at Thistle and Rose we highly value infection control. Each person gets a new applicator straight from the packet at each treatment which is disposed of immediately after your treatment.

Any other questions?? Please email us direct on emmarose@thistleandrose.com.au Please be sure to include photos of the areas you would like treated.
