Dark Lip Tattoo

Ethnic lips often have two tones- darker on the top lip and the corners of the bottom lip, and lighter in the middle of the bottom lip and sometime slighter on the inner top lip.

Using a digital machine, small needles penetrate the skin and deposit orange/yellow coloured pigment. The orange colour neutralises the brown/blue/purple hues. Once complete and healed, it looks like a natural pink shade, which may take several sessions to achieve. Only then, once fully neutralised and healed, can we consider adding a pop of colour in (we are restricted to a few light and bright colours such as warm red, peach and warm pink- not everyone is eligible for this pop of colour). The colour is bright/intense at first and then fades down to a lip stain/tint. Lip tattoo can be used to define the borders, balance asymmetry, make the lips look fuller, camouflage scars or as mentioned, neutralise unevenly distributed natural pigment or just to look more youthful.

Full Lip

With dark lips, we only have the option of a full lip tattoo. The entire lips are tattooed over the course of your treatments, excluding the inner most area (mucus membrane). At the very least, you will require 1 x Initial Dark Lip Tattoo and 1 x Refinement. It is very unlikely that you will only require the two treatments in total. Most of our dark lip correction clients come in between 3-7 times to achieve desired results. There is never any guarantee of your results and it is hard to predict how many sessions each person would require.

Initial Dark Lip Tattoo Treatment (including consult) $850, allow 180mins, $60 for Post Tattoo Balm Plus and $39.50 for lip balm

Refinement Tattoo Treatment $250, allow 120mins (must be 6-8 weeks after Initial Lip Tattoo, however Emma Rose may request you stretch out to allow for 12 weeks healing time between treatments)

Subsequent Refinement Tattoo Treatments $250, allow 90mins (must be 6-8weeks after Refinement Tattoo, again possibly 12 weeks)

Refresher Tattoo Treatment $350, allow 180mins, $60 for Post Tattoo Balm Plus  (within 2months-18months after your Initial Lip Tattoo or Refinement Lip Tattoo)

If it has been 15 months or longer since your Initial Tattoo Treatment or last Refinement Tattoo Treatment, full Initial Tattoo fees will be charged. If you have previously had work by another cosmetic tattooist and wish to start seeing Emma Rose, full Initial Tattoo fees will be charged.

If you are a carrier or herpes simplex, it is highly likely that you may experience a cold sore outbreak which can affect the healed result of the tattoo- this treatment might not be suitable for carriers. You must seek advice from your Medical Practitioner and obtain the necessary medication to help prevent an outbreak.

Lip tattoos are only for fairer complexions due to the risk of hyperpigmentation/scarring in lip tissue in a more ethnic skin colouring. Emma Rose is not prepared to treat Fitzpatrick Skin Types higher than an early Fitz Skin Type 3- send pictures to check if your complexion is eligible.

When booking, please take into consideration that the lips will look very bright/dark and swollen immediately after the procedure so you may not want to plan any social events.

For 7 days after your treatment you will need to;

-use the Post Tattoo Colour Protection Cream (available for purchase for $30) making them shiny in appearance

-avoid exercise/ perspiration

-avoid makeup and other products on the lips

-avoid wetting the lips

-avoid swimming (chest down is fine but no splashing on the lips!)

-avoid sun/ radiation/ heat

Corrections & Tattoo Removal

Corrections

POA, please send through photos.

Correction work often costs more than an initial tattoo just to get the brow to a state where it can be further worked on. Often removal of existing tattoo and an extended healing period will be required before more pigment can be added. This means that several treatments over several months may be recommended. If you need correction work, please contact Emma Rose direct, along with photos and details and photos of your tattoo status to check whether or not she is able to help you or what advice she can offer.

Removal

POA, please send through photos.

This is saline removal only. Laser removal requires Doctor only application. Emma Rose is not legally allowed to operate laser in WA due to government regulations.

There is a high risk of scarring with removal work therefore Emma Rose may not be able to treat all cases. If she doesn't think that she can make an area better, she will refuse to do your treatment.

Consult forms and consent forms completed, different cosmetic tattoo methods explained, goals/desires/improvements are discussed, new shape drawn on, pigment colour chosen and all questions/concerns are answered.

Then, we proceed to performing a test patch running through the whole tattoo process in an inconspicuous area (ie behind the ear/neck/hairline) and need to wait 7 days before your Initial Tattoo appointment.

*Please note that some reactions may take years to manifest so a Test Patch does not rule out possible reactions.
